Family Guy Offends Hollywood Jews

It's one of America most popular cartoon shows -- "Family Guy" has been a ratings block-buster for the Fox television network. But here in Los Angeles, its producers stand accused of angering the city's Jewish residents, in the programme's eagerness to win an Emmy. In a bid to secure support for the cartoon to be named "Outstanding Comedy" at this year's award, Family Guy producers sent mailers to residents in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Brentwood, where many members of the Academy live, and many of them happen to be Jewish. "Come on you bloated, over-privileged Brentwood Jews" reads the mailer. "Let us into your little club".

I love that Family Guy/Seth MacFarlane goes there. I'll admit that the show is one of my occasional guilty pleasures. The show's stereotyping and cliches are evenly distributed amongst all societal segments. For me, that's what makes the show fun to watch, the irreverence. On any given episode you will find pokes at Jesus, gays, blacks, the handicapped, Jews, fat people, rich people, morons, perverts, rednecks, retarded people, gun nuts, toddlers, the middle class, alcoholism, high-schoolers, bestiality, etc. No segment of society is left unrepresented. If family guy is anything, it is fair. People get offended by the dumbest things. LOL If humor that mocked society did not exist, this world would be even more worse off than it already is. People need to take the sticks out of their asses. LOL
